-Cookies-

I finally got down to baking my favourite chocolate chip cookies. Been dying to bake since Thursday but today was the only day I did not need to take an afternoon nap. So there I was happily preparing to bake my cookies..

However perhaps as a harbinger of what was to come (gee, I do remember something from my A level Lit), my mum bought cake flour instead of the plain flour I requested. Nevertheless, I went to NTUC to exchange the packet for plain flour. Was still happy as one packet of cake flour allowed me to get two packets of plain flour. Mum went: aiyah you could have exchanged for something else. To which my rejoiner was: can bake a lot of things, use slowly lar..

As I prepared the cookie dough, it did seem a little soft and I added more flour. Yet the end result was still a cakelike consistency. Ah well, anyway my supportive friends will finish them when I bring them to church. In case you are wondering what went wrong, here's the recipe:

2 and 1/4 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
250g butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs
12oz chocolate chips

Method:
Sift flour together with salt and baking powder. Set aside.
Cream butter with sugars till light and fluffy.
Add in egg and vanilla essence. Mix well.
Fold in flour mixture.
Mix in chocolate chip.
Bake in preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 15 minutes.

Voila! Juan's homemade chocolate chip cookies
